How does the procedure work?

The procedure is not recommended to be performed during the high sun activity months (from May to September). The procedure is short (lasting 5–10 minutes) and uncomfortable (a burning sensation is felt). If necessary, an anesthetic gel is applied to the patient an hour before the procedure, which makes it less unpleasant. After the procedure, cold compresses are offered to the patient if needed, which quickly reduce the discomfort. A moisturizing cream and sunscreen are applied.

Result

After the procedure, the skin will be pink/red for about 2–3 hours. In some patients, facial swelling may occur 2–3 days after the procedure. However, it should be noted that the risk of swelling also depends on the chosen intensity. The higher the intensity, the greater the risk of swelling, but the procedure's effectiveness will also be higher in this case. To reduce the risk of swelling, patients are also recommended to use cool compresses at home and avoid visits to the sauna, hot baths, and intense physical activities, as well as other personalized recommendations. If the patient has many pigmentation spots, small "scabs" may form, which will peel off in about 5 days.

Patients should always use a moisturizing cream and sunscreen!
